Drawing Maps Across Borders & Bodies

これは公演であり、同時にライブアートである。
演者と観客全員で流れ着く舞台なのだ。

This is a performance, and at the same time, a work of live art. It is a stage where both the performers and the audience arrive together.

空間の両岸に立つ、日本とブラジル、二つの身体。
そのあいだを渡すのは、両国をつなぐ架け橋のような白く長い紙。
観客の手にはスケッチブックと鉛筆。
ドローイング作家・明夜が、観客とともに二つの身体を描き出す。

やがて線は床を埋め、空中を舞い、空間は“身体の地図”で満たされていく。
日本とブラジル、生身と写生、演者と観客。
あらゆる境界を越えてたどり着く、ここにしかない一枚の地図。

On opposite shores of the space stand two bodies — one from Japan, one from Brazil.
Between them stretches a long, white sheet of paper, like a bridge linking the two countries.

In the audience’s hands are sketchbooks and pencils.
Drawing artist Akira begins to capture the two bodies together with the audience.

Lines eventually fill the floor, dance through the air, and the space becomes saturated with a “map of the body.”
Japan and Brazil, life and sketch, performer and audience —
across every boundary, they arrive at a single, unique map that can only be found here.

※舞踏公演とドローイングが少しずつ境界を越えていく、ボーダレス・パフォーマンスになります。
※明夜と観客が描いた絵は、上演中に床や空中に撒かれ、時間の経過と共に空間全体がひとつの地図となっていきます。
※観覧のみでも、観覧＋ドローイングで参加でも、どちらでも可。
※ご自身が書いた絵は、ご希望される場合はお持ち帰りいただけます。
※フライヤー画像はあくまでもイメージで、公演当日は衣服を着用した状態で上演いたします。

This will be a borderless performance, where the boundaries between Butoh and drawing gradually dissolve.
The drawings created by Aki yo and the audience will be scattered across the floor and into the air during the performance, transforming the entire space into a single map over time.
You may choose to simply watch, or to participate through both viewing and drawing.
If you wish, you may take home the drawings you have made.
The flyer image is for illustrative purposes only. On the day of the performance, it will be presented with the performers wearing clothing.
