About this website
2012年より、札幌を拠点に、舞踏という踊りを広める活動を続けてきました。
舞踏BARからはじまり、北海道舞踏フェスティバルへ。
そして2025年、あらたな拠点として「札幌舞踏界隈」をオープンします。
舞踏とは、踊りのようで踊りではない。
だけど、たしかに踊りである——そんな表現です。
このサイトでは、イベント情報や舞踏体験、記録アーカイブなど、
舞踏を身近に感じていただけるコンテンツを発信していきます。

Since 2012, we’ve been sharing Butoh from Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
From the opening of the Butoh BAR to the launch of the Hokkaido Butoh Festival,
and now, in 2025, we open a new site: Sapporo Butoh Kaiwai.
Butoh is like dance, but not quite.
And yet, it is undeniably dance.
On this site, you’ll find event information, Butoh experiences, archival records, and more—
all designed to help you encounter Butoh in a more familiar, tangible way.

About Hokkaido Butoh Festival
Butoh festival held in Hokkaido, Japan.
Since 2017, the festival has been held in various cities in Hokkaido while changing its form.
日本の北海道で開催されている舞踏のフェスティバル。
2017年よりフェスティバルの形を変えながら、北海道の様々な都市で開催してきました。
The first concept was Global and Local.
While we invited performers from all over the world, we also invited people who are active in their local communities, both domestically and internationally.
最初のコンセプトはGlobalとLocal。
世界中から出演者を招く一方で、国内外問わず地域に密着して活動されている方にもご出演いただきました。
Butoh has undoubtedly created a new trend in the history of dance in the world.
I believe that strong physicality and overwhelming stage presence are born from the fullness of the inner texture of the body, as well as tolerance and diversity that embraces even the negative.
舞踏は世界の舞踊史に間違いなく新たな流れを生みました。
強度のある身体性や圧倒的な舞台上の存在感は、身体の内側の質感の充実や、ネガティブなことも内包する寛容性や多様性から生まれるのだと思います。
The Hokkaido Butoh Festival aims to transmit the new value of butoh to the world.
We will continue to search for new ways of expression that are not bound by existing systems.
