舞踏公演「ツネマサ」
Butoh Performance TSUNEMASA
We are presenting a Butoh adaptation of the classical Noh play Tsunemasa
at the historic Otaru Noh Theater—an Important Cultural Property.
Tsunemasa, born into a world of courtly elegance, lived as a master of the biwa lute,
devoted to the beauty of music.
But the tides of fate swept him into the Battle of Ichi-no-Tani,
a war he never wished to fight.
From the realm of elegance, he was cast into the depths of chaos.
Now, in shame of his warrior’s form,
his ghost lingers—
no longer wanting to be seen by the living.
Where do Tsunemasa’s thoughts wander now?
Come witness the Butoh version of Tsunemasa.
Rehearsals are underway—week by week, we bring him back to life.
