岩見沢公演は、当初の計画では岩見沢市に舞踏家・田仲ハルが滞在し、現地の人々と接しながら作品を制作する「アーティスト・イン・レジデンス」方式で制作を進める予定でした。

 

滞在先を確保し、学校や施設、商店街の方など様々な方と交流を深める計画でしたが、新型コロナウイルスが北海道に到来したことで状況が一変しました。

 

小さな規模の地域住民にとって、よその町からやってくる客人は恐怖の対象となりました。

 

それでも私たちは幸運なことに、状況が悪くなる前に1度だけ岩見沢市に行くことができました。

そこで出会った武部建設の結ホールは、珍しい形態の素敵なモデルハウスでした。

そのモデルハウスを会場に、岩見沢や美流渡で出会った芸術家たちと公演を行う予定でしたが、北海道で緊急事態宣言が発動されたことで、事態がさらに悪化しました。

 

公演を開催することは絶望的になりましたが、私たちは諦めずに武部建設さんに無観客での上演をお願いいたしました。

出演者・スタッフ共に最低限の人数で実施すること、万全の感染対策をとることを条件に開催を許可していただいた私たちは、外出を控え、毎日検温をしてその時を待ちました。

 

そうして迎えた撮影の日。

無観客ならではのユニークな映像作品を撮ることができました。

The original plan for the Iwamizawa performance was for Butoh dancer Haru Tanaka to stay in Iwamizawa City. He was supposed to create a piece as an "artist-in-residence" to create a piece while interacting with the local people.

 

We had booked a hotel and made appointments with schools, facilities and people in the shopping center to prepare for the residency.

However, the situation changed drastically with the arrival of the new coronavirus in Hokkaido.

 

People in the small town were afraid of visitors from other towns.

 

But we were fortunate enough to be able to visit Iwamizawa City just once before the situation got worse.

There we encountered a nice model house in an unusual form, the Yui Hall of Takebe Construction.

We had planned to use the house as a venue for a performance with the artists we met in Iwamizawa and Miruto, but things got even worse when the state of emergency was declared in Hokkaido.

 

It became hopeless to hold the performance, but we didn't give up and asked Takebe Construction to perform it without an audience.

We refrained from going out, took our temperature every day and waited for the time to come.

 

The day of the shoot arrived.

We were able to make a unique film that could only be made without an audience.
